- Local Storage: All app-lock configurations, protected app lists, decoy preferences, and cryptographic credentials (such as hashed PINs) are stored securely and exclusively on your device using encrypted local storage.
2. Permissions & Why We Use Them
To provide its core security features, GhostLock requests the following system permissions:
- Accessibility Service: Used exclusively on-device to detect when a user launches a protected application, allowing GhostLock to instantly enforce privacy decoy screens. This data is never logged, tracked, or transmitted.
- Display Over Other Apps (Overlay): Used to display the fake crash, update, or offline decoy screens over protected applications.
- Biometric Hardware: Used locally via the Android BiometricPrompt API to authenticate your identity. Biometric templates are processed securely by your device's hardware and are never accessed or stored by GhostLock.
- Notifications: Used to maintain a background service indicator when the security shield is actively armed.
3. Third-Party Services
GhostLock does not integrate third-party ad networks, tracking scripts, or external analytics tools. Your data remains strictly between you and your device.
